This Week's News
- FREE Hillwood High School Drum Camp. The event will be held April 15 and 16, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM in the Hillwood High School Rehearsal Hall. This event is open to anyone who would like to become a member of the Hillwood High School Band drumline for the 2010-2011 school year.
A brief parent meeting to follow on Friday, April 16, 2010 from 7:30 PM-7:45 PM in the rehearsal at Hillwood High School.
- April General Band Booster Meeting Rescheduled. There will be a general band booster meeting on Tuesday, April 20 at 6:00pm in the rehearsal hall. Elections will be held for the 2010-2011 board members. Those are as follows:

As you can see three positions remain open. These positions need to be filled, especially the second person for Ways and Means (this position requires more than one person to be effective). I know that everyone is busy (Believe Me I Know). Please consider one of these openings. Thank you, Gail Reeder.
- Annual Steeplechase Fundraiser Sign-up Time! Our annual fundraiser, parking cars at the Iroquois Steeplechase, will be held on Saturday, May 8th. We will report at 8:30am and work till 4:30 or 5:00 pm. Meeting place on the Steeplechase grounds will be determined at a later date.
All monies earned at this event will go toward your fair share band account. We need 40 volunteers to work this event, so bring industrious family and friends to help you earn money.
Please email Cindy Smith at smithra17@comcast.net and let her know if you are coming. She will also need your t-shirt size.
- Band Banquet MOVED to May 2. The Band Banquet will be Sunday May 2nd 1:00pm to 3:00pm. This date was changed from May 1st because of situations beyond our control and we were left with this May 2nd. We will have a luncheon setting and will be just as nice as last year. The attire is come from church clothes, nice dinner clothes or if you want to go formal that will be great also.
There is seating for 120 people. Tickets will be sold to ensure attendance. The tickets will be $10.00 for competitive band member and parents. For those who were not a competitive band member, the tickets will be $15.00 per member and per parent. Tickets may be purchased from Ms. Reeder at school. Checks will need to be written to the Hillwood Band Boosters.
Tickets need to be purchased by April 23 so we can get a final count to the Holiday Inn.
HOW CAN I PAY?
1) If you have an overage in your band account, you may use that money to secure your tickets. When you present your tickets on the day of the banquet, that money will be placed back in your account. If you do not show, then the money will go in to the general band account for the banquet.
2) If you do not have an overage in your band account, you will need to pay the $10 per ticket to Ms. Reeder. Your money will be exchanged for your ticket on the day of the banquet. If you do not show, then the money will go in to the general band account for the banquet.
- Now Accepted: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, AMEX, and PayPal. Band fees can now be paid by using a variety of methods through PayPal. Don't forget donations! We have a place for that now, too. Visit the HHS Band website at http://www.hillwoodband.com/ to see (and use) them.
