* Christmas Tree pick up (12/27, 01/03, 01/10):  The annual Christmas Tree pick up will take place the next three Saturdays, but we still need your help.  Please call Cindy Smith (see her note below) if you can help.

* Brass Choir at Brook Hollow Baptist Church:  Our brass choir performed Christmas music during the Sunday service.  The congregation really enjoyed having our talented students as part of their Sunday.

* FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES:
     1) Kroger cards (ongoing; contact Mrs. Marcie Allen)
     2) Central Parking (ongoing; contact
parking@hillwoodband.com)
     3) Fruit sales (2 sales for Thanksgiving and Christmas delivery)
     4) Christmas Tree pick up (12/27, 01/03, 01/10)

From Mr. Chester and Mr. Shepherd:

Have a safe and happy holiday!

From Cindy Smith:

It is time for the next fundraiser!  If you want to help pick up Christmas trees this Saturday, Dec. 27th, we need you!  We will meet at Hillwood High School outside the auditorium at 8:00am.  We only have about 5 or 6 trees to pick up so far, so if this weekend doesn't work out for you, there is always Jan. 3rd or Jan. 10th.  We will be followed by a reporter from WKRN this week.  Look forward to seeing you there!  If you have any questions, give me a call, 352-2070.

Thanks, Cindy

From Julie Lamb - Fruit for Sale:

Dear Band Boosters,

I want to thank the many parents who use the fruit/fudge sale to help raise funds for the band.  Hillwood raised a little over $4000 and Bellevue raised about $2300 for the two sales.  As the mom who has organized this for four years (eight sales), I have found it is a great fundraiser.  The best way to maximize sales is to keep a list of names from year to year, watch it grow longer each year and then pass on your list with new incoming band members.  I have picked up many names of folks who want called annually.  Keeping a file or spreadsheet will allow the band to develop clients for years if everyone plans just a little. And if you can talk them into ordering on-line, the company sends out reminders when the sale begins each year. saving you time too!   I know the students don't like selling anything but the senior love getting their annual fruit.  It brings a smile to many folks by following this annual tradition.   Have a wonderful holiday season.   - Julie

Do you still owe on your fair share fees? Have you heard how easy the parking fundraiser is?  Would you like to get a head start on next year's fees?  This is truly an easy no-sell fundraiser: Mrs. Reeder sends a notice of available opportunities, you work, log hours, Central Parking sends a check for your time directly to the HHS Band Booster mail box, and Mrs. Allen credits your account.

If you are interested, send an email to
parking@hillwoodband.com to be added to the email list.
